Deputy GM of Engineering



Sean Crumby is the Deputy General Manager of Engineering. His responsibilities include overseeing the engineering bureau that maintains 2,160 miles of water and sewer pipeline, 20,000 valves, 90,000 water meters, 28 water wells, 28 sewer pump stations, 38 storage tanks, and 8 interconnections to water supplies.

Mr. Crumby is a highly seasoned Professional Engineer with over 23 years of experience in public works, including extensive experience with the engineering of water and sewer systems. He began his City career in 2015 as Deputy Director of Public Works/City Engineer. Mr. Crumby was responsible for the operations of the engineering bureau consisting of 100 full-time employees, providing leadership in construction management, engineering and infrastructure design, project management, stormwater management, and traffic and transportation.

Prior to joining the City of Long Beach, Mr. Crumby held various positions within the City of Seal Beach, which included Assistant City Manager and Director of Public Works.  He was also the Director of Public Works and City Engineer for the City of Stanton. Mr. Crumby earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada and is a registered professional engineer.
