Water Use Restrictions

California is in the fifth year of a record-breaking drought, despite recent rains, and Governor Brown has extended his requirement through 2016 that all cities cut their water usage.  The City of Long Beach must reduce its water usage by 16% to avoid fines and penalties by the State Water Resources Control Board.  This goal is best achieved through a combination of water use restrictions, conservation rebates, and education programs.

The following links summarize the current prohibited uses of water, allow customers to report to LBWD suspected violations of these prohibitions, describe the potential monetary charge repeat violators may be subject to, and, should a customer be assessed a monetary charge, provide a form for appealing the charge.
