The Long Beach Water Department (LBWD) has been delivering a safe and dependable water supply to the residents and businesses within the City of Long Beach for 100 years.  LBWD employs a dedicated team of water quality experts who are proactive in protecting and providing a reliable supply of quality water to all Long Beach water customers.

Currently, LBWD serves a total population of nearly 460,000 through over 900 miles of pipelines.  The water that flows through the system is tested on a routine basis for microbiological as well as chemical quality.  The Water Department utilizes a variety of advanced technological processes to ensure a consistently high-quality water supply.
