Financial incentives are now available to our commercial, institutional and industrial (CII) and Dedicated Irrigation (DI) customers in order to help them conserve water.

Your payback period may be months – not years

You can earn an incentive payment of up to $0.76 per 1,000 gallons of water you save per year, for up to five years.* So saving 1,200,000 gallons per year for five years could result in an incentive payment of over $4,572.

But the incentive payment represents only about 15-percent of the total benefit; the other 85-percent, or $3.89 savings per 1000 gallons, comes in the form of lower water and sewer bills!

The following example is based on an actual project that saves about 1.2 millions gallons each year by better managing a building’s cooling tower. In this example, the return on an investment of $10,000 would be about 430% over five years with a payback period of about 14 months. Too bad all our investments don’t return 430% in five years!

Just about any project that conserves water will qualify

Just about any project you can think of that saves water qualifies. For example, you might qualify for a payment by improving the management of your irrigation system or removing turf from your landscape, increasing cooling towers cycles, recirculating commercial laundries rinse water and other projects that minimize or recirculate industrial process water.

Projects that are for devices for which we already have rebates or projects that simply replace broken or leaking equipment do not qualify. (For information on our rebates visit our residential or commercial rebate pages.)

What happens after you submit the form indicating your interest

Because every customer’s project is unique, we will work with you to estimate the potential water savings, the project cost, the potential benefits to your company, the likely amount of the PWS Incentive payment that will be made to your company, plus other information. After working with you to determine this basic information:

1.    A standard application will be drafted by LBWD for your review; then
2.    You will be asked to sign the application; then
3.    LBWD will approve the application; and
4.    You can begin implementing the project, saving water and money!
