Isaac C. Pai, P.E. 
Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer

Isaac Pai is Director of Engineering for the Long Beach Water Department, where he has been employed since 1996. He reports directly to the Department's General Manager.

Mr. Pai has a variety of responsibilities, including planning, directing, managing and supervising the programs and activities of the Department's Engineering Bureau. He also develops and implements objectives, strategic plans and programs for the Department's water, reclaimed water and sanitary systems, including the Capital Improvement Program, Business Development, GIS/automated mapping and construction services.

Mr. Pai has over thirty years of experience in the water, wastewater and environmental industry, including working with local, state, and federal agencies. Prior to joining the Department, Mr. Pai was a Division Engineer with the Anaheim Utilities Department, where he was in charge of all capital improvement projects. His background includes extensive experience in planning, design, and construction of chemical processing plants, power plants, water/industrial waste treatment and desalination plants.

Mr. Pai is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California and other states.

Mr. Pai holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering, both from the University of California, Berkeley.
