U.S. House of Representatives Passes Water Appropriations Bill; $1.9 Million Earmarked for Long Beach Water Department Projects

Washington, DC - Today, the United States House of Representatives passed H.R. 2419, the FY'06 Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill that funds the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Interior, including the Bureau of Reclamation, the Department of Energy and several independent Agencies. Included in the bill is $650,000 for the Long Beach Reclaimed Water Expansion Project and $1,250,000 for the Long Beach Seawater Desalination Project.

The FY'06 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill provides a total of $29.7 billion in budget authority for the Federal Agencies it funds. The bill is $131.7 million below FY'05 funding levels and the same as the President's budget request.
