Our
Recognition Program
What
better way to enhance the beauty of Long Beach but with
beautiful, individually crafted landscapes that reflect
the diversity of our great city. With droughts sweeping
the nation, Long Beach is creating many programs to show
how conservation can be fun! If you are interested in
creating your own landscape this website can be very
useful.
Once you have created your Beautiful Long Beach Landscape (BLBL), we would like
to recognize you for doing your part to conserve water,
beautify Long Beach, and help protect the environment.
We would also like to inspire and help other people
successfully design and create their own BLBLs by
sharing information with them about your project. This
would include posting photos and your landscape story
(what worked, what you would do differently, your
favorite plants, etc.) on our website and perhaps in
other publications. Let your BLBL inspire and educate
others about beautiful water conserving and
environmentally-sustainable landscapes throughout our
City.
If you have already created your BLBL and are
willing to help inspire others to do the same,
- Fill out the application (we have a printable
version here) and return it to us.
- We will call and set up a time with you to visit and
check out your landscape.
- When we do this, we’ll be asking you about your favorite
parts of your garden and other questions to put on the
website.
- Picture time! Our photographer will take pictures that
will truly display the beauty of your garden.
- We’ll get everything together and get you and your
landscape on our website.
We are truly excited about everyone’s participation in
the effort to keep Long Beach beautiful and to be a
water friendly city! |
